Introduction
We, at Western Cape Recruitment, are compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We will ensure that the data subject (candidate/applicant) is sufficiently informed on the purpose for collecting and processing personal information. We will also protect the personal information from any internal, external, accidental, or deliberate threats. All employees and third-party service providers must also adhere to the same information security principles in this policy.
Accountability
We will take all necessary steps to ensure that all personal information is secure and stored safely, this includes any data that will be represented to a client.
Processing Limitation
Personal information from job portals or social networks will only be collected or processed with the consent from the data subject, except when required to do so by law. The data subject will be made aware that if their personal information is being processed, the reason and also which data is being processed.
Purpose Specification
Personal information collected from data subject will be used to acquire temporary or permanent employment on behalf of data subject.
Further Processing Limitation
Personal Information will not be processed in any way that is not compatible with the initial purpose for which it was collected.
Information Quality
Before processing any personal information, we will ensure that the information is complete, up to date and accurate. If needed, we will request data subject to update or confirm information.
Openness
When personal information is collected from any source other than from the candidate, we will ensure that they are aware of the purpose for their information being collected and who will have access to their information.
Security Safeguards
We will secure the integrity and confidentiality of information by taking necessary measures to prevent loss, damage and unlawful access to personal information. We commit to ensure that information will only be used for legitimate purpose with consent from data subject.
Data Subject Participation
The data subject is entitled to access, correct or delete any of their personal information obtained by us.
All employees associated with the recruitment process will be trained in the regulatory requirements governing the protection of personal information. By sending us your CV, qualifications, or any document that contains personal information, you agree to the following:
- You have read, understood and agree to our POPI Policy.
- We may keep your personal information on our database.
- We will obtain consent before any process involving your personal information.
- The information you provide us is complete, up to date and accurate.
Your rights:
- Right to know what information we have, how that information is being used and when Western Cape Recruitment will disclose that information.
- A copy of our Policy is available and can be obtained from our website, wherein all the above information is made available.
- Right to correct your details – We encourage you to keep your information up to date, should any of your details change, please notify us of same so that our records are as accurate as possible.
- Right to revoke consent – You may revoke your consent given to us in terms of this form at any time. Your revocation should be in writing and addressed to hardy@westerncaperecruitment.co.za
- Revoked consent is not backdated and will not affect use of your information already made.
Declaration and informed consent:
- I declare that all Personal Information supplied to Western Cape Recruitment is accurate, up to date, is not misleading, and that it is complete in all respects.
- I undertake to immediately notify Western Cape Recruitment of any changes to my personal information should any of these details change.
- I furthermore give Western Cape Recruitment permission to process my Personal Information, as provided above, and acknowledge that I understand the purposes for which it is required and for which it will be used.
